Dala Cover "Ohio"

In light of the ongoing #OccupyWallStreet situation, we're seeing lots of references to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's protest song "Ohio".

Here's Dala performing "Ohio" at Borrowed Tunes Neil Young Tribute Concert at Charles Stockey Theatre, Toronto in December 2009.

Quite stark and compelling.

Dala covered "A Man Needs A Maid" on the Cinnamon Girl Benefit CD and performed at Borrowed Tunes: A Tribute to Neil Young.

I love it! Their voices resonate with compassion and respect for this beautiful memorial anthem...

It sort of reminds me of Joni's original of "Woodstock."

  4. This song (and Stephen's B side song) will forever remain a memorial song to all the lost souls whose lives were cut short on this planet.

It's not just a song. It's a beautiful prayer like David's Psalms... and it never surprises when artists like Dala grasp it's healing power because when we hear it sung this way, a little bit of my heart begins to heal.

  5. :(

For a second I thought we were getting a Dale Crover cover. THAT woulda been cool.

For those who don't know, Crover is the Melvins' drummer, Nirvana's part-time drummer and had a role in the video for Harvest Moon.

  6. That cover is very cool, haunting. Very well played. How long must we sing this song, indeed.
