Crosby and Nash Interview: CSNY 1974 Tour Box Set

An interview with David Crosby and Graham Nash from Rolling Stone by Eric Helton & Matthew Murphy.

Crosby and Nash discuss the recent Miley Cyrus cover with Jimmy "Neil Young" Fallon cover and the new Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's 1974 reunion tour live album.
"We recorded nine of the 35 stadium shows we did," says Nash. "We have about 42 songs and we're busy mixing them. We have about 12 to 15 mixes under our belt. We're talking to Neil about the resolution he wants everything at. Because of the world Neil is in, he wants it at the highest possible – which is always advisable."

Crosby says he loves what he's heard from the set so far. "It's astounding," he says. "It was such an astounding band then."

As I've said before, even the possibility of a box set being released for this 1974 tour thrills my heart!!!

I'm so glad they're taking the time to do it right!

    Thanks for the update!

  2. Very interesting statement by Mr. Nash. "Because of the world Neil is in, he wants it at the highest possible [resolution] - which is always advisable."

What world does one have to be in to want the highest possible connection with your music through higher resolution? What is he getting at with that statement? He says it's always advisable, but on the other hand it's Neil's world that drives him to seek high resolution. There's more here than meets the eye... I wish I could put my finger on what it is.

I think it's Graham's polite way of saying, "Neil's a looney about his high-definition audio. Personally, David and I would be perfectly happy to slap this stuff on CDs and get it out to market before we and our children die, but since we wouldn't be allowed to release it without Neil's say-so, we do it the way he wants."

    Affectionately, of course.
