Official Neil Young Website

The official Neil Young Website neilyoung.com has a new look and feel. Out with the retro Shakey's Garage and in with an Archives Box navigation.

Also, see Message from Neil regarding High Resolution Audio:
The spirituality and soul of music is truly found when the sound engulfs you and that is just what 2012 will bring. It is a physical thing, a relief that you feel when you finally hear music the way artists and producers did when they created it in the studio. The sound engulfs you and your senses open up allowing you to truly feel the deep emotion in the music of some of our finest artists. From Frank Sinatra to the Black Keys, the feeling is there. This is what recording companies were born to give you and in 2012 they will deliver.

Two Buffalo Springfield dates at Red Rocks, Colorado for September seem to be confirmed at this point but an additional stop in Telluride has been nixed due to local town opposition to the concert.

In a rather unbelievable story on local politics in the
Telluride Daily Planet a tense faceoff at the Town Council meeting ended up vetoing the Buffalo Springfield date on Sept. 9.

Scroll down for some interesting reaction comments to the Town Council vote to veto Buffalo Springfield coming to Telluride. Boy, we wouldn't want to be running for mayor in that town after this....

  3. Anyone know whether the BluRay with "A Treasure" will be region-locked or will it be like the Archives?

  4. The Blu-Ray will be region free, all of Warner's Blu-Rays have been.

About the Amber Jean preview: I was a bit disappointed that the wonderful harmonica intro (as heard on Austin City Limits) is missing. Also the mix is a bit different. In any case, it still blows anything on Old Ways (and the studio out take of Amber Jean) into the weeds!

I do wonder though, that NYA preview, will it be for Vol. 2 or Vol. 3?

Exciting stuff! It's a great time being a Neil Young fan, makes me happy I am still very young (26). Sure I didn't get to go to Woodstock, but at least I'll live long enough to see all of the Archives Released :P

  5. @Harm - lol - none of us know how long we have here on planet Earth. I would venture a guess that there is enough unreleased NY material in the vaults to keep releasing Archives well past my lifetime(I'm 38) and yours if that's how Reprise and Neil choose to do it... But I'd like to think that Neil wants to oversee all of it before his time comes to pass on...

    Peace

  8. On the tracklisting for A Treasure Blu-Ray there are a few bonus items: a 1985 BBC interview (the Old Grey Whistle Test interview I suppose, minus the concert footage), A Treasure Tech Notes and Credits, and NYA Trailer.

  9. I can't get beyond the 38 minute track on Neil's web site, even if the whole thing plays to the end, it starts over. Any suggestions? Or do we have to wait a few days?
