Opening The Neil Young Archives Video

Well, we've seen some pretty amusing videos of folks opening their Archives packages, so here's another one.

It's from Jay "SONY" (Speakin' Out in New York") and was shot by his 11 year old son.

We're posting this mainly for the running commentary by Jay's son who has -- shall we say -- a bit of healthy skepticism for the whole NYA thing. As Jay writes, "I wish I could bottle that outlook and perspective and pour it back over him when he gets away from it."

Note that the split screen special effect is not a problem with your YouTube connection.

Thanks SONY! Enjoy NYA! And, who knows? Maybe we have a future Neil fan in the making.

More videos of folks opening Archives boxset.

  2. Hysterical! The "Don't say WE say I" and "Remind me again why I'm filming this" cracked me up. SONY, please take another video in a couple years when your son is older, and really into trying to play guitar. Then we'll see what he has to say about it. ; )

this kid film-o-togphopher has a strong attitude to make sure he wants nothing to do with Neil Young.. but he does play a good foil to your strong devotion to your Love for Neil and isn't that a necessary part of all great cinema ? I also liked the ultra modernistic 'split-screen'!

  15. All these people who say that young people will never understand are kind of over doing the stereotype...

I'm 15 - and by far far my fave artist is Neil, followed by Springsteen, and Dylan, and CSN... and I've seen them all live (as well as sneaking in to a Steve Stills gig 2 years ago as it was an over 18 venue :P)
    Neil, of course, was mindblowing!

But seriously, I know that people like me are in the minority but I do have a few friends who love nothing more than some fab old music...
