  2. 1956 Bubblegum Disaster -- wait, so one of the big unreleased songs is a 15 second live track with stage banter?

  4. TVel-

In case you weren't paying attention, the samples on amazon are....samples.

You might also note that on that page the track "1956 Bubblegum Disaster" is listed as being 2:04 in duration.

    You do the math.

  5. Now I dont mind owning about half the tracks on it. These MP3s sound better at 256 kbps than the 128 kbps I have.

  6. Thanks Archives Guy--

I saw that they were samples and that the track was listed at 2:04, but in the sample it sounded like he played the entire song then started talking-- I figured the remaining minute and 40 was banter--- excellent to know that the music goes on. I like what I'm hearing. Thanks! Can't wait.

  8. Repeat to self: do NOT drool on your keyboard whilst listening.

It's so great to finally hear some of this stuff.

  9. Wow, I know, I know, MP3's are supposed to sound like shit...but these tracks are fantastic, however I am looking forward to hearing them all on my sound system.
Hey for the 4% of "morons" whom have complained about having most of these songs in their collections already, have a good listen to the samples of Vol 1. I cant get over the variation is Neil's voice, the differences in guitar work, compilation etc, and if you listen even more carefully to the tunes that are repeated, each one is so different from the next, all of them are so unique, some more country, some more rock etc etc. The diversity is unbelievable. You can hear extra guitars that you think shouldn't be there but sound great anyway, Neil sings in different keys, sometines raw, sometimes more polished etc etc. I'm gonna call the extra stuff that I can hear "Hidden Bells & Whistle Bits"..lol...and of course we all know that MP3's are not the real thing, so how much more am I going to discover on BR who knows!!!
Anyway Neil can keep repeating these songs for ever, there is always something to learn, to enjoy and just get excited about. Only 5 days to go and counting. Thank you Neil for sharing a big part of your life with all of the 96% of us whom have appreciated the amount of work you have put into Vol 1. I'm thankful that you are also alive to oversee your baby and that you can really get pleasure out of the project too. I certainly have coveted, craved and desperately wanted to add the NYA to my collection for years... I can't thank you enough. "Pardon My Heart if I showed that I cared..."

  10. There's no BBC concert on the Archives :(

    ReplyDelete
  11. Why worry about the 1971 BBC show not being on the Archives when it's freely available in perfect DVD quality?

  12. The BBC show excerpts are the most highly viewed Neil Young clips on YouTube and already available.

  13. Why did I just receive an email saying my Archives order is delayed until 6/30/09? What happened to 6/2?
