Harvest Moon Live and Toast Set for Release on July 8

Both Harvest Moon Live and Toast will be released on July 8.

Pre-order Harvest Moon Live on Amazon.com here.

Pre-order Toast on Amazon.com here.

Harvest Moon Live and Toast are no longer listed as available on Amazon.com. No further information available as to why listed and withdrawn. Although it was odd that they were both listed for release the same day?

  1. Thanks for the heads up. Can you give us amazon.co.uk links as well so we can support you there?

  2. The Amazon link shows zero as far as content on the Harvest Moon Live issue (or am I missing something). Does anyone have a track listing and from what venue and time period, etc. etc. etc?

Is Neil releasing this or a record company executive?

  3. Regarding Amazon.uk, please email me at thrasher@thrasherswheat.org to see if we can figure something out.

As for Harvest Moon details, there's not much to go on yet. Will try and keep you posted.

  4. Two albums? Yeah, I noticed it on Amazon too but couldn’t believe the Harvest Moon Live album. Are these the first two releases of the new NYA SE series? (SE = Special edition) Or should we expect Harvest Moon Live to be NYA PS 04? Maybe even NYA PS 18? The more confusion the better it sounds to me.

Okay, Natural Beauty from Harvest Moon was recorded live in Portland, Oregon. In 1992? One can imagine the two shows were recorded completely and if so the tracklist for HM Live could include: Long May You Run / From Hank To Hendrix / Unknown Legend / Silver And Gold / You And Me / War Of Man / Old King / Such A Woman / Harvest Moon / Heart Of Gold / Dreamin' Man / Natural Beauty / Don't Let It Bring You Down / Cowgirl In The Sand / After The Gold Rush / Old Man / Sugar Mountain.

It’s just speculation and we have to be aware that we are talking about Neil “I guess I am running out of album titles” Young. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be something completely different.

But then again I personally do love the sound and recording of Natural Beauty on HM because it sounds like a beautiful mellow version of the Rust Never Sleeps acoustic sound (with the always stunning song “Thrasher”).

    BECAUSE SOUND MATTERS

  5. Toast tracklist: Gateway Of Love, Standing In The Light Of Your Love, Quit (Don't Say You Love Me), I Don't Want To Be Sorry, Goin' Home, She's A Healer plus various unknown and abstract songs creating a landscape littered with half-broken dreams and promises. ??? B. S. M.

  6. To avoid confusion, Neil should have simply created a double album and called it "Harvest Toast" or perhaps "Toasted Harvest" - that would have been more in the spirit of things, I would think.

  7. Just a guess for the "Toast" tracklist:

    - Standing In The Light Of Love (aka The Big Parade)
    - Gateway Of Love
    - Goin' Home
    - She's a Healer
    - Quit (Don't Say You Love Me)
    - When I Hold You In My Arms

  8. Just before Harvest Moon was released Neil toured solo and we saw him at the Embarcadero in San Diego. Best Acoustic show I ever saw and we were in the last row (to start). What stood out were two songs, EKTIN, amazing, and the first encore (by then we were in the fifth Row) and that song was Natural Beauty. This song caught the crowd by surprise and it shut up the noise makers immediately.

  9. The Warner Canada release schedule published yesterday makes no mention of either title (Canada pretty follows in lockstep with the US parent company). Harvest Moon Live WAS previously listed for a June release date, but has disappeared. Keep your fingers crossed, but, hey, this IS NY, and even he doesn't always follow the expectations of the record company!!

  10. Neil's recently made a big fuss over the Archives, so he should release them before these two projects. What's with the endless wait? The anticipation is killing me.

  11. Stop the press!

"Toast" and "Harvest Moon Live" are as far as I can see both removed from Amazon dot com. There is still one "Toast" but that one doesn't have the "Ships from and sold by Amazon" information.
Is it all a hoax? I was surprised by HM Live anyway.

  12. How exciting

All this speculation about new music from Neil, or old music but new versions .....

    Can't wait ....

Well I can wait actually, sometimes there have been years between me getting to see the man live (Greendale - Chrome dreams - 4 years)and more than a year between new recordings but the memories of Massey Hall in November are still fresh, I can remember vividly the thrill of sitting in row three dead centre at Hammersmith AND I've got two festival tickets on the wall downstairs, Werchter and Hop Farm!

And Chrome Dreams still gets played everytime I drive.

And the archives might actually happen ........

And Toast, which sounds good, if it does exist....

    And Harvest Moon Live...

    Too Much.

No not too much, just great.

Keep up the good work Neil. And do it just how ever you fecking want to. This notes for you.

  13. Perhaps Reprise is concerned about a possible over saturation of the Neil market: 2 different cds (and all the permutations, Blu-Ray??!), a movie (and possible soundtrack), and the Archives. I'm would cherry pick, natch, the Archives and Toast...
