It has been three years now since we started the Release "Time Fades Away" Petition. And still no sign of its release. Oh well. It's not like we haven't tried.
Obviously, the On The Beach petition was more effective as the album was released in a little less than three years from the petition's start.
So how are we doing? There have been approximately 14,000* signatures since February 2005. The petition page has had over 82,000 visits and still continues to see regular traffic and new signatures.
The TFA song poll has some interesting results with "Don't Be Denied" holding onto first place by a significant margin. Over 8,200 have cast their ballots.
So what does all his mean? Our guess is that this will be released when Neil feels like it. Big surprise.
Anyways, go out and sign the Release Neil Young's "Time Fades Away" Album Petition if you have not already.
And vote (on Super Tuesday)!
Because, "You can make a difference if you really try."
* - The total number of signatures is an estimate. During the summer of '07, about 4,000 were "lost" due to some technical problem.
What a superb album. It's hard to pick a favorite track but LA always strikes a chord with me.
ReplyDeleteOn 7/17/08 I attended a special Deja Vu movie screening in SF and Neil was there.
ReplyDeleteNeil greeted a few us who had hung around in the theater after the viewing.
I was able to get my ticket signed.
As he signed it I calmly said "Neil, release 'Time Fades Away'. You played it last week and it sounded wonderful."
He smiled as I stepped back and he turned to the next person.
FYI, he played the song “Time Fades Away” for the first time in 35 years on 7/9/08 at König-Pilsener-Arena, Oberhausen, Germany.
