Neil Young Closes Live8 Concert in Canada
The Live8 concerts ended with Neil Young and an all-star finale of "Rockin' In The Free World". Quite a fitting conclusion for a day in music history. It was the second performance of the song in the day. Earlier, Maroon 5 played RITFW in Philadelphia.

Neil performed a new song called "When God Made Me" on grand piano. He was accompanied by the Fisk University Jubilee Choir. Gorgeous, heartfelt lyrics. Sharry transcribes the lyrics on Rust@Yahoo!:

ReplyDeleteI'm actually upset because I sat and watched 8 hours of Shakira and Jay Z just because I thought in the end I would see Neil. I can't believe that in the US, MTV and VH1 would rather show Destiny's Child and Linkin Park than a living legend like Neil. How sad...
