Young Crosby would be a great project -- and if Stills wants to play along, under control and melodically, that would be Ok, yes sir. But old man Nash should stay home with the young 'un.

Deja Vu - I think I heard this album before!
ReplyDeleteHad this platter as a young-ster, was part of the
rock and roll elementary curriculum in my house
of 8 kids ages 9-18 when it came out with 1 living
room turntable, sharing time with Johnny Cash, Beatles
Herb Alpert, Jose Feliciano, CCR, Alice and some others.
All these tunes are etched in my soul, and are the bedrock
of my music experience.
I still wish they would have went with Neil's idea for the band - SYNC!

ReplyDeleteWhat became of Neil's idea: There was a promo vinyl item issued by Atlantic in 1988 for radio stations with Q & A's regarding "American Dream". It's titled CSNY: IN SYNC. I erroneously bought that believing there would be some music on it. It's just interview snippets for DJ's to make up for a "live" interview with the four guys. With this title in mind I wonder if CSNY for that pretty weak record ever even shared a studio to be "in sync". Somebody at Warner's obviously made themeselves believe that this is a come-back of the foursome. Other Warner releases provided for a come-back, Neil Young & The Horse's ressurection from the Geffen records abyss.
ReplyDeleteThat was about the Blue Notes and Freedom era and I recall Neil Young being quoted as making good on a promise if one of the guys involved got his act together he would contribute to another CSNY album. But then there was "Cocaine Eyes" and yet another guy had to clean up his act.
With midlife crises in full bloom people do very stupid things, I learnt myself and the hard way.
