ReplyDeleteAgree 100% David Hidalgo Is Just Shredding This Performance.A Very Underated Player, He Plays With Anyone He Can.Saw Them Twice Last Year Opening For NYCH.Blown Away On The Rail.It Was Great To See Los Lobos Come Out In Kitchener,Ontario And Jam With The Horse On Farmer John.Im Gonna Pick Up Their Latest Live Release That Is Coming Out Soon.

ReplyDeleteI've met David once and spoken with Al a number of times. Always a pleasure to see and hear them play their own songs, plus they always come up with the best cover songs.
I've said for years that Neil Young and David Hidalgo are the two coolest guys in Rock and Roll. This video helps confirm my belief and shows the musical connections between them. Now maybe Neil will cover a Los Lobos song--how about Mas y Mas--and maybe one of Alejandro's as well.
Wonder if Neil knows Al from hanging out at The Mabuhay Gardens back in the 70's? My best friend used to play and hang there; says he talked with Al quite a bit way back then and heard him play with The Nuns, who even opened for The Sex Pistols when they played their last show at Winterland, their own little contribution to the story of Johnny Rotten.
Terrific! Wow! I saw Alejandro and Louie Perez perform Hurricane at their Bethlehem, PA stop as well. David really hits it here.
