  1. Disappointed with this open air venue.at Lucca.
    Never again.
Initial songs too long, 20 mins of mindless feedback noise at one stage. & what finally made my wife & I leave was the song Fxck you, totally disgusting lyrics with knucklehead guitar sidekick giving the finger to the audience.

We didn't pay good money to see crap like this.

Sorry Mr Young, you have lost the plot, or all the dope fumes in the air got to your brain

I will remember your good songs of prairie wind.

  2. Wow, prepare to be thrashed ...

  3. Yes anonymous, he wrote that song, today, just for you. Because he knew you would be there and he wanted to send a special message just to you. He told the knucklehead to give you the finger, just in case you didn't get the message.

  4. He has to be a sidekick cause he got thrown outta bible school for givin' the finger to the preacher.

  5. Seems to me that if you are plugged into Neil enough to visit this web site, then you should have known what to expect.

I assume the feedback you refer to is "Walk Like a Giant" and I assume the middle-fingered-referenced song is "F***in Up." Both songs have been played at pretty much every show on the tour. Did you think you and your wife were special and were going to get the only Prairie Wind-oriented, non-grunge show on the tour?

  6. Saw the show in Lake Tahoe too long ago. Wish I could have more like this, especially if it involves 20 mins of feedback and dope fumes and the knucklehead. I fucking love Neil, and the Horse!!!

  7. Last night was the third I saw Neil live, first one with the Horse. I came from Spain to see these Gods and wasn't disappointed. Amazing concert in a beautiful town. Powderfinger, Ramada Inn, Red Sun, Singer Without a Song, F'ing up... just heavenly. Pity about Hole in the Sky, which I don't like. I'm going to catch the train to Rome in a couple of hours to see them again tonight. They are a life shot. Long live the Horse!

  9. @Anonymous 6.47: Silly man:) Why is it that all trolls sound the same? Is it all 1 song?

To me it sounds you walked out of potentially 1 of the greatest concerts of your lifetime... Well, what do I know about such things; I'm just a fuck up...

    Love and only love,

  11. What a concert. Ramada Inn was fucking amazing. Incredible.
And I LOVE EKTIN! A pity they didn't play Hurricane or RITFW, but anyway THIS was a rock and roll concert as it should always be.

People complanining about no prairie wind stuff make me laugh... No way they really can expect that, just trolls

  14. Well guys even though it's beyond tiresome to read the complaints from those who are turned off by this tour, I get some great laughs out of it. It seems that there will ALWAYS be some who buy a ticket or two when they see Neil's name, and then they never go online to see the set lists or anything else.

At the Fairfax Virginia show last November I was seated next to a very nice couple who I chatted with before the show started. They professed to be huge fans and were excited to be there. We were in the expensive seats right next to the stage but not on the rail. Anyway, by the second song (Powderfinger), it was obvious that the woman was getting genuinely upset. She had her arms folded and was shaking her head. By the middle of WLAG, they both grabbed their coats. But before they left, I leaned over and she yelled in my ear "this sucks! This is just noisy crap and it's the worst concert I've ever been too!!" She was pissed in a bad way. It likely didn't help her that I was grinning from ear to ear just loving the show!

I do believe Neil only ever performed the Prairie Wind material twice in Nashville back in 2005, no?

  15. Neil is like a mirror ball, he's got many musical sides...it triggers his creativity...when you are an artist, doing the same thing over and over is just boring...

anyhow, what do I know ?...I'm just a fuck up...;-)

  16. Since it seems like you are really upset, maybe you can call and complain. I think I have that guy's business card somewhere... Here it is (bone coloring, Silian Grail typeset):

    Frank "Poncho" Sampedro
    Knucklehead Guitar Sidekick

  17. That's O.K. Mr. Anonymous. Mr. Young got your message. Today the members of Crazy Horse are learning all the songs to 'Prairie Wind' and 'Silver & Gold', to play at their next performance so if you hurry you might yet get a ticket...

    ReplyDelete
  18. ahahaha Prairie Wind??? it's really hard for me to imagine the horse playing the prairie wind stuff? was CRAZY HORSE so hard to read on your ticket? Trolls and only trolls

    ReplyDelete
  19. 06:47 is a troll, obviously. Don't use energy on a troll like that.

  20. The anon Prairie Wind folks comments being first off here sure fired things up when the comments have been relatively quiet as of late, coincidence?

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Setz - a coincidence?

Hard to say with these comments sometime.

But it is terribly odd that within moments of concert ending someone shows up here for the 1st time to post such a clueless comment.

Our assumption is that if anyone reads TW, they must be pretty serious. So this makes no sense for wanting Prairie Wind songs at a Crazy Horse concert.

Like going to an Italian restaurant and being surprised there's no French cuisine and then writing a letter to the local dining critic to complain.

    very strange.

  22. she said 'your strange but don't change'. And I let her.....

  24. The guy has a right to his opinion. He may not be trolling for anything, just giving his 2 cents. Clueless, yes. Remember the movie Neil made about the Living with War CSNY tour ? Don't say ol Neil was not trolling there, we know he was. The red faced cussing anger was featured in the movie. People sometimes think they are big time NY fans. In their mind they are going (to show) and will find something to like, regardless. Its Neil Young after all. Then they in for a surprise. They are not the fan they thought they were. So come on down off your high crazy horses, all you regulars.

  25. It was a great show in a beautiful setting. I loved the acoustic set...Neil voice is still so good!
And the electric set was excellent, expecially a mighty Ramada Inn and the encores. Thanks Neil, come back soon in Italy!

  26. First: Thank you to the man having my to nine years old on his shoulder during a couple of songs, and thanks to the crowd around us for letting him! That really meant something for me and the kids - the kids on their first "real" concert. I was not able to do this myself because of a hurting shoulder. Good atmosphere in that beautiful city of Lucca.

The opening - Love and Only Love - almost sent tears to my eyes. I liked the long songs best- none a second too long - and Red Sun was beautiful as well.

Neils voice was in very good shape, however the most interesting parts of the show include to see were those jams are leading us - sometimes to places I never knew existed. Ramada In and Walk Like a Giants rank among Neil best. I love both the accoustic and the electric Neil and having both leaved me extremely satisfied with the show.
