  1. Not really one of his better songs, but nice to hear Neil play it with emotion!

  2. A great song from a superb record! Would be cool to hear some of those other ones live. Besides Daddy Went Walkin , that is. Bring em on!

  3. Are these live versions of "Red Sun" in the original dropped tuning that he used on the album version?

  4. Thanks for sharing this, Thrasher. It is a good song. But I certainly agree with anon above about "Daddy Went Walkin'"... Thanks but "No thanks"... Or a rambling jive-ass 16-minute live version of "Old King" ??? Gag me with a guitjo !!!

Apologies for being such a bring-down,

  5. Great song!! Sounds/looks like he's playing the song in standard tuning as opposed to drop D in the recorded version.

  6. Seriously Neil why THAT song? Silver and Gold is my favourite record, probably because it's the first one of his I got into, but that song is so bad I deleted it off my iTunes years ago and forgot all about it. Without Rings or Razor Love or almost anything but Daddy Went Walking would be soooooo nice to hear again live!

  7. Red Sun is a fantastic song. Sorry , Johan, just can't relate. But it would be awesome to hear Without Rings. Or Distant Camera. Great to see something from this album resurface.

  8. This is an amazing song and an amazing performance. I was standing right in front of Neil during that first verse. Made me cry like a baby! It was beautiful and for him to sing it rather than HOG was a pure joy!!!! I'd take this song any day of the week. Thank you Neil!

  10. Actually, this was a pure bonus - he did "Comes a Time" in the HOG slot (like he also did in Brussels, Newcastle and Dublin)

  11. 'and the bars begin to laugh with the jolly sound'
Lovely how Neil replaces 'happy' with 'jolly' for his English audience.
I was welling up on the front rail.

  12. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing! I was there at the O2. Love this song for it's gentle simplicity.
