For a brief moment this afternoon, we thought our worst fear as a blogger had arrived.

Fortunately, we're able to report that Neil Young is NOT dead, despite the reporting of NBC News.

A major fail by NBC news. Correction: Astronaut Neil Armstrong dead @ 82.

whew...

And in other major breaking news, Neil Young was not the first man on the moon.

  1. It's a good day whenever Neil Young isn't dead. RIP to Neil Armstrong, of course.

  2. Neil Young has certainly walked on the moon, but not as literally as Mr. Armstrong (RIP to an American treasure).

  3. I shook hands with Neil Armstrong, and you, Sir, are no Neil Armstrong....

  4. Damn it Matthew, you got to the angle I was going to go for before me!

BTW, and as recently as a year ago I never would have dreamed I'd be saying this, I don't believe Neil Armstrong ever stepped on the moon. A decievingly realistic movie set, yes, but the moon? Uh, no (God, why can't I just keep these things to myself?). Mind you, I don't say we haven't been to the moon, just not via the dog and pony show otherwise known as the Apollo Eleven program. Check out Jay Weidner and David McGowan. I defy anyone not to come away from their research anything other than thunderstruck.

But RIP Neil, and Long May You Run, Neil.

  10. Wow...

1st - to Greg Mantho - I ususally think your posts are among the more thoughtful and interesting. But to question the moon landing? Really? lol...ok whatever...

2nd - this entire thread and false headline...geez...I guess as rabid fans we should all prepeare for when the day does come, but what an intense thing to blog about haphazardly...all the more reason to see this tour no matter what it takes...there may not be another...

  12. Anon. 4:05, I promise you, no one is more surprised than me to call into question the Apollo Eleven moon program. I repeat, check out David McGowan at http://www.davesweb.cnchost.com/ ( Wagging The Moondoggie), and Jay Weidner, http://www.jayweidner.com/Kubricked.html. If and when you do look at this research, and come away from it with your beliefs about Apollo Eleven still intact, please feel free to call me out (gmantho@gmail.com).

“I’ve been wrong before, and I’ll be there again”, and I’ve lost a lot of people along the way due to my opinions, but I challenge you, and anyone else, to put your beliefs to the test. I repeat also, I do believe we’ve been to the moon. I’m not going to go to the mat on this one, but I always keep in mind the first question any lawyer or guru will ask: what are the facts? FWIW.

  16. Neil never Landed on the Moon, though he did Land on Water. And, while he never set foot physically on the lunar landscape, he has certainly reflected on its importance throughout his frequent howls to celebrate its fullness.
