"Sleeps With Angels" - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Complex Studios - Promo

"Sleeps With Angels" by Neil Young & Crazy Horse from The Complex Sessions on YouTube.

Although this performance was recorded in the Complex studios, it isn't part of the Complex Sessions (filmed by Jonathan Demme). While The Complex Sessions was a live performance, this footage comes from the promo-only VHS 'Sleeps With Angels Continued ...' which documents the recording of the SWA album. (Thanks vaga2012 for update/correction!)

Also, see Comment of the Moment: Sleeps with Angels - "It's like a room full of mirrors".

  5. I miss the 90's....but the music goes on forever.

I really didn't choose to leave you
To tear myself away so long
    To travel and unravel
    All the fabric we'd sewn
    So now something's wrong
And the world we used to know has gone

  9. Yeah I always loved that shirt the best...Lupos lives on in our hearts.

Will this be enough for us to TM the slogo and get the tailors to work? With Neil's blessing of course!

Driving home last night, I saw a grey and white wolf on the right side about ten miles from home. He was there, looked up and then vanished into the woods. I've never seen one in-the-wild before and it's an experience. I think the cold night might have made him bold, confused him or a bit of both.

A few miles later, a young deer was on the right side of the road. There's an area where they congregate and there must be vegetation they enjoy. Gave a look, stopped for five seconds or so, then slowly moved into the wooded area.

I'm thinking Horse Back will be a bit of each experience....

  10. ...and I think Neil wore that shirt for many/most/all of the Smell The Horse tour shows back in early 1991--including his last time at the old Boston Garden where he told the crowd "...you can tear it down but you can't build it back up again."

The shows that Nirvana would have opened if Neil hadn't already committed to Social Distortion as opening band....

  11. Front of the tour shirt reads:

Horse Back 2012 Tour To Restore Peace, Sanity and Hope

    Back of the shirt reads:

    We're only P S H ing in the Wind

  13. Ya know how hindsight is always Twenty Twenty? Looking back to last Sunday, it's obvious now that Madonna was not the best choice for the halftime show.

Based upon the Pats second half meltdown, Neil and the Horse should have done twenty minutes of Horse Back with an emphasis on the Fuckin' Up part....

  15. Dreamt last night I was at the opening show for Horse Back 2012. Plans are to start with a summer tour of small clubs along the shores and coastlines, which some wags are already calling the "Dune Let It Bring You Down" tour. First night is in North Beach CA at Neil's old haunt, the legendary Mabuhay Gardens. Neil and the Horse play two hours of Horse Back, Neil returns to play the Dead Man score followed by the best Heart of Gold ever. The finale is an all band three song encore of Dog House, World Without Dogs and Cinnamon Girl that's performed along with show openers, legendary Bay Area troupers 84 Rooms who are playing in a one-time reunion gig. Next stop up the coastline is The Malibu Inn.
