The polls are now open for voting on the "Johnny Magic" video contest at Neil Young's website.
Voting will end Midnight PST May 22, 2009.
Here are a few of our favorites that we've showcased recently (in no particular order):

But we still have not seen them all. We'd be interested in folks comments below on their faves that folks should be encouraged to view.

At first I was quite excited, when the voting started yesterday.
But now I'm afraid, that people are not so much interested into voting for their favourite video, if it is impossible to see any ranking.

But folks can't campaign for their vids, tho. That's too bad.
Right, you can't see vids again on vote page but they're still on N Y Times.
There are about 22 individual creative videos to vote on.
ReplyDeleteIf you vote, however, you fall in a black hole of some outsourced polling company, and you never get back again any response, other than that they know your computer now (placing cookies all over the place; for those who use W7).
It is disturbing that you cannot even see the result of your voting, the race, the fun. No, like this, it gets boring. Which is frustrating and astonishinglgy disappointing for all those who invested a lot of time and energy to create these videos.
Well, I think, it might be a good idea that Neil posts also the intermediate results of this hidden LV-video-poll. In harsh words: Otherwise it gets plain boring and is not transparent.

It's so much fun to watch the videos of the others, too!
But winning is not all by the way, to me the main win is, that I could DO such a Video and have so much fun with it!
I want say thanks to Neil and his crew for this fantastic idea with the videos, so we all could have so much fun, doing it and watching the ones of the others!

I agree with you, but I don't think it's fair that only some of the videos have been mentioned in this blog, and even they admit that: "we still have not seen them all", because somehow it conditions people to watch specially those ones, and there are many others which deserve to be taken into account.

Not trying to bias rankings, just hoping to help the wheat from the chaff (altho no offense to anyone b/c every vid I've seen I really liked).
This will be hard to narrow down.

Yes, of course here we can ask people to WATCH ALL THE VIDEOS OR DO NOT VOTE, but while this is just one more comment almost hidden, the links to some of the videos appear on the front page of the blog and it says they are "a few of their favourites", so...

ReplyDeleteHowever the voting is almost over and I still hope,that the people who voted watched them all and voted for the ones THEY thought are best!
I'm really curious on the results and want to say everyone, that I had a lot of fun with it all!
I hope Neil will do something similar again,:-)
