"Thrasher" Covered @ IRF

The Neil Young song "Thrasher" performed by Gil Garcia at the International Rust Fest acoustic night held at the "Old Princeton Landing" (OPL) bar above Half Moon Bay, CA on 10/23/08.

Thanks Gil!

So, what possibly could the song "Thrasher" be all about anyways?

  2. In regards to the lyrical analysis of the song.... "they had the best protection, they were poisoned with protection"? You'd think that if one was to analyze lyrics, they should atleast use the correct lyrics.

  3. Thanks so much for featuring my performance on Thrasher's Wheat! Needless to say I am very honored by this. This night at OPL was my first real public performance and I was very nervous so I stuck with songs I know very well like this one. Thanks again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thanks! That's pretty good. You're the first one to notice that since written 12 years ago. Congratulations!

  9. I've never commented on this board before (although I read this website frequently) but I feel compelled to leave a message this time. Just to say, keep up the good work Gil, I've seen a lot of your covers on YouTube and you do a fantastic job. Really enjoy watching you play and it's rare to see someone actually do the songs justice. I play too and do my best to get those little Neil "subtleties" into the songs but you nail it. Well done mate.
