  1. I really enjoyed this. I love how raw and unpolished it sounds...:)

  2. Sorry man, this is almost as bad as "Fool For Your Love", Neil writes some real lame tunes when he's on the road with his wife (backup vocals are WAY too prominent). "Singing A Song Won't Change the World" is equally lackluster, though far less annoying. "Are You Passionate?" failed for a reason, Neil is just not uppity-ballad material, and that's all this song sounds like with this band. In fact, the song could probably be alright if he had a different backing group.

Cut out Pegi and Anthony's backup vocals and turn up the feedback, yikes, this tune needs some work.

  3. I agree, it's pretty dull. More of a riff than a worked out song. Still, fascinating stuff. Sounds a bit like the (much despised but very gripping) Time Fades Away tour, thanks to Ben Keith's steel.

  4. I saw this live in Oslo yesterday, and Neil said that they'd fucked it up last time, which is this version. In Oslo it was a lot better, Neil knew the text and it was really a treat, believe me. One of the highlights of the fantastic show. In my opinion one of the best songs he has written over the last years.

  5. Wel, what can I say... You can play my guitar...
Sea Change was played much better in Oslo.
Also J.S.A.S.W.C.T.W. (the other new song) has a better NY guitar in Oslo. It's getting more dark. He's still working on it. Trust the guy, please!
I will sign the "release the upcoming album petition" immediately. Love and Peace. Because Sound Matters

  6. I'd have to agree with the earlier comments, this sounds like an out take from a rehearsal, you have the song and the riff in the first five seconds. Pretty unremarkable. Having said that, 'No Hidden Path' is a bit a of a lame duck on album but live has developed into a growling beast on tour. Perhaps Sea Change might develop into something stormier.

  8. I don't agree with the previous comments.
I like the groove. It's like a mantra and this fits with the lyrics.

  9. Sounds like a pretty fiery tune, but to be fair I can't make an assured judgment till I hear the song in better quality than that. Thanks for the upload, all the same.

  11. Given that Neil is probably the best and most melodic song writer of my 56 year lifetime with the biggest catalog of ANYONE, it's a shame that he had to play this to paying customers. I'm thinking of seeing him in Everett WA but I'm concerned about his song selection, especially at the high $$$.

  12. Spot on Veg. I doubt any amount of feedback would help prop up this lame duck of a tune. I was channelling David Hasselhoff running in slo mo as i struggled to accept this was being offered up by one of the planet's most enduring and soul-lifting songsters.
