“Ordinary People” on YouTube: Patch of Ground People

Much excitement over the confirmation that “Ordinary People” will be appearing on the upcoming new CD Chrome Dreams II. Back in 1995 we wrote about the extraordinary song "Ordinary People" and how its lyrics make the song one of Neil Young's magnum opus'.

Over on Rolling Stone are links for YouTube videos of "Ordinary People" being performed with The Bluenotes at Lakeside Ampitheater in Darien Lake, New York on September 18, 1988.

Part #2

Also, see lyrics analysis of "Ordinary People".

And over on N Y Times: "Elliot Roberts, Neil's Manager for the past 38 years will return to Los Angeles tomorrow after playing Chrome Dreams II to an enthusiastic reception at Warner Bros' England and France headquarters."

  2. Amazing. Simply amazing. The passion just poured off that little Youtube window! And the lyrics are so powerful -- even today. Neil, you're the man.

  3. Looks like Neil and Crazy Horse shall be going on tour again finally. But I honestly hope tickets aren't as much as last years CSNY concerts. I'm already going to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blue Oyster Cult in September and my parents aren't gonna want to pay for more any more concerts, even though I will beg and plead to see Crazy Horse. I would even sell the tickets I have now to see Neil with the Horse...but my parents won't allow that. So what do you all estimate ticket prices will be for this tour????

  9. Back to Ordinary People:

Does anyone besides myself love the piano embellishes after Neil sings the words "Ordinary People". The version I have is on the first disk of the Archives Be Damned comp and it's awesome. I hear so much about the solos and the blues licks with the horns and all but damn if I don't wait to hear those little piano responses everytime I listen to that song. Played it 3 times before work this morning!

  10. Did you say he's coming to Australia? Oh my God, yes!!

  11. Your information is wrong then. The tour will be starting in North America; and at this point the band accompanying him is unknown. But there is no reason to think that it will be Crazy Horse, it is likely just an error on the ticket site.

  12. Does anyone know for sure if he's coming to Australia or not? I haven't heard anything about it down here.

  13. I hope the oncoming tour is with Crazy Horse, Neil didn't play with them since 03 (Greendale Tour). I cannot find any concert dates in Toronto.

  14. Why would they just anounce 1 date on ticketmaster?
